Casa de Productie Americana “DreamWorks” a dezvaluit faptul ca au licentiat dreptul de a adapta mangaul lui Masamune Shorow “Ghost in the Shell” intr-un 3D live-action film. Povestea unui paramilitar de elita din Japonia viitorului a mai fost adaptat in 3 filme animate si 2 serii TV.
DreamWorks a lansat al doilea film animat Ghost in the Shell, “Innocence” in America.
DreamWorks a mai lansat si Millenium Actress si a produs Transformers, un alt live-action SF cu baze Japoneze.
Multe raporturi zic ca si Universal si Sony au negociat pentru drepturile acestui film, cum si Production I.G. a incercat. Cea ce a fost in favoarea casei de productie DreamWorks a fost co-fondatorul “Steven Spielberg” care a fost foarte entuziasmat de proiect. Ziarul de divertisment ne da un citat “Ghost in the Shell is one of my favorite stories.
